With this quote of Chanakya, the movie starts. Only one and best of its kind in Tamil Cinema. “Aaranya Kandam” – Aranya Kanda / Jungle chapter as mentioned in the Ramayana ( EPIC). Its a story ( a day) revolving around the gangsters lives. Aaranya Kaandam was not a biography or history of a gangster but “a page out of the life of a gangster”. Movie revolves around a day in a set of gangsters. Before writing something I salute director “Thyagarajan Kumararaja”. Everyone says its his first movie. But I swear you will not believe it after watching the movie.
We cannot call it as a complete black movie, this is not a movie about the problems of gangsters, this not a movie about showing or portraying the dark or ugly side of gangsters. This is not the movie of big suspense’s and thrilling scenes…but every one will have a curiosity of wat is next. Just a movie revolves around a day of gangsters and how they handle it.
Well defined characters , spontaneous and right delivery of dialogues, proper synchronization of cinematography, BG music attached with the story lines ( one cannot imagine this movie without YUVAN’s BGM ), crystal clear acting of all the characters, well matured and cultured editing, justified and unexpected climax…moreover a legendary screenplay..masterpiece direction skills…wat else to say…SIMPLY SUPERB. Hats off to SPB Charan & team.
Five gems of this move, Jackie Shroff , Ravi krishna, Sampath Raj, Somasundaram, master vasanth. As always “Koothu patarai” has given another excellent actor “somasundaram”. Sampath and Jackie are the best selection for this movie. Special notes on Somasundaram and kodukapilli (master vasanth). The BGM was another biggest plus to the movie. Yuvan just carries the movie in his shoulders with his extraordinary BGM. Yuvan has done his best whenever he is trusted. Really he deserves a big award this year. Still I can hear the BGM in the chasing scenes…!
Really proud to see these kind of movie in Tamil Industry. As already this movie got a international recognition and award…and this movie deserves more. A good and excellent for movie lovers and those who loves Cinema more than an entertainment. An Indian movie with a international quality in terms of cinema. Happy watching this movie…and proud too.
Just wondering …with more than 52 cuts from the Censor board..this movie still survives. Its kind of movie u will never get irritated about gangsters and their activities….you just get involved and live the day with them.Tats the skill….TRUE SKILL of a director. The movie for Adults ends with the same note,
